How do I prevent my dog humping my dog?
Good for those who read my question last night about how my Jack Russell and my new German Shephard survive / lab mix, even just read my question. Lucky (Jack Russell) was a little nervous at first, and we held the puppy in the cage for about an hour. Then she stood with Lucky on the leash, and within 10 minutes they were best friends. The problem now is that he always tries his back. He is firm and I know men have urges, but she is 3 months old and just flops down, if he tried. But no amount of screaming, knocked his ass or what keeps him constantly humping her. He is a very hyper dog, we have, when it was over a year old and was never trained. We have had him for over 2 months and have a lot Progress made. We do not want to have to get rid of Lucky. Please do not be rude in your responses. I really need a solution for this. In my question YOU ALREADY says he is neutered !!!!!!
First you need to get them neutered as soon as possible. There are some vets that will spay for 3 months old and younger. I agree to try a spray bottle. If regular water does not work, try vinegar in the water. Most dogs hate the Smell of vinegar and it does not hurt him anyway even if you do it in his eyes by accident. One of my men are trying to hump my oldest male all the time. He would to leak only when I sprayed the water it but when I added vinegar and it tasted, that it no longer immediately what he was doing. They spray bottle works great for me. All I'm saying is BOTTLE, and they all retreat. ______________________________ Other: Yes, it's probably a dominance issue. But it can also become a kind obbession. I have one, which used to be obbessed humping with my oldest dog. With the bottle on him has stopped him. Now it is only an occasional thing.
